i really should be sleeping
Dec. 3rd, 2008 02:30 amFirst of all, to the commenters of my last entry, WHY DID ALL OF YOU USE NINO ICONS? It made me laugh that I used a dorky!Jun icon then I see the comments are all Nino icons. LOL. I'm not complaining but. It amused me to a large extent. *is shallow*
Anyway, it's three in the morning here. I'm wide awake even though I have classes at eight this morning. I blame two things: (1) coffee; and (2) sleeping from 6pm-9pm. Hey, it's not like I could help it; last night I started working on my homework at 9pm and ended at 4am. So to speak, I lack sleepagain.
Enough rambling, this should be a happy entry. LOL. Btw, to those who still want to request for virtual cards, click HERE people. I'm thinking of having some kind of twist in those things, but heck, I'm not innovative at all.
So. Before I deviate topics again, personalfangirl life news! (hopefully there wouldn't be something about school here orz):
News # 1: Friday, Watching Iwo Jima.
So okay. I'm not trying to be a hypocrite here, since apart from watching the movie itself, I was actually more excited about the special features of the DVD (BluRay? LOL), like what I pretty much want from DVDs in general. Undeniably I loved the movie. I found that it was so well-conceived that nothing in the movie was irrelevant. And it was so believable. The movie actually left me speechless (like I am now lol).
Onto the more interesting part. During the special feature interviews, I found it amusing that everyone looked different in the movie and in the interviews. (I know, it should be that way, but let me prove a point. XD) Nino, for instance; in the interview he looked much younger, especially with the YamaTaro hair (although this was done in late 2006) and with the highlights. Yes, HIGHLIGHTS. Honestly, I cannot remember a single moment where I could see this hairstyle of Nino's. Perhaps during this time he didn't really have activities with Arashi, but this tidbit actually left me wondering for some reason. Remind me their activity back then? :/
Next is Kase Ryo. He certainly looked like his age in Iwo Jima, but during the interview, he looked like he was 25 or something. I cannot explain it here though. I might post about this again next time to show you photos. LOL. But he is a good actor. I wish he acted more in dramas.Has anybody watched a drama of his? Oh I totally loved this conversation with Nino:
Kase Ryo: *talking about the cast and crew* Everyone was really nice. Everyone except for Ninomiya-kun.
Nino: Oi! That's not true!
Nino's answers in the interviews were interesting, as usual. When asked what he had in common with Saigo, his answer was that like Saigo, he wanted to go home, to Japan. He missed home so much that it was the only thing he could think of. There he also mentioned that he hated travelling, so filming for Iwo Jima was quite hard.
Oh and did you know that the belt for Shimizu (Kase Ryo's character) was Nino's idea? :D
What I loved about Nino in the presscon in Japan was that despite sitting beside Clint Eastwood, he had the guts to tell what he really thought of. When asked what he thought of the movie, instead of praising it (or any actor or something), he said, "I was thinking, 'Ah, this scene was cut! Why it isn't here?!'" Which made me almost fall off my chair. XDD And Nino wanted Clint Eastwood to join him in Arashi concerts. LOL.
One last tidbit I could share, there were 500 girls who auditioned for Hanako (Saigo's wife), all from which came from Los Angeles. Amazing is all I can say. *___*
News # 2: Saturday, Twilight movie
I'll be honest again. The movie was okay. I could've liked the movie more, actually, if not for those teenagers who couldn't stop squealing every time Robert Pattinson appeared on-screen or even every time he blinked. Okay, I'm exaggerating, but you get my point. Good thing those girls were faaaar at the back of the theatre (we were at the front) or else I would've been cleaning my ears for three straight days now. LOL. Back to the movie. Bella was actually everything I imagined she would be. Edward, not so much, but I like him still.
And I can't say anything else anymore. Sorry about that. ^^;;
News # 3: There exists a book about how you can say s**t!! in Japanese.
I hate profanity to be honest. It's just that other people say it so much that I have to learn a bit of it somehow. XD;; Apparently there's this book called Dirty Japanese which basically tells you about the Slang side of the Japanese language. It has topics about casual greetings, sports, video games, even how to say "I'm wasted." But there was one entry that got me laughing:
Johnny's Music
janiizu kei
[Katakana here--lol, I don't know how to type characters in HTML *fail*]
The Japanese version of "boy bands." Arashi, Smap, V6, Kinki Kids--these NAMBLA posterchildren make the Backstreet Boys look like they actually have testicles.
*hides from everyone*
I'm sorry, I still find that description amusing. Believe me, that's how useful this book is. XDD
News # 4: I now have a DS Lite, thanks to my dad.
I really haven't talked about that here (except with a few LJ friends), but ever since mid-November I've been wanting a DS Lite. I could blame Nino, but it's actually because of two (yes, TWO) kids playing at one of the coffee shops nearby. I was just happened to be peeking at what they're doing but, man, that scene reminded me of my childhood days when I used to play video games in every bit of my free time. So anyway, I planned on buying it using the money I received from my birthday, on Christmas, since I don't really want to be distracted *further* from my studies. XD
Normally, like my sister did with her PSP, I canvassed for good prices (and good packages) and last Saturday, I finally found a good deal. My dad wasn't with me at the time, as I was with Jenny (to watch Twilight with lol). After a few hours, at 9:30pm, my dad and I were about to go home when I told him about this good deal and he responded with, "Why don't you buy it now?" I answered with a, "Huh, what?" because really, I was waiting for school break to happen first. But he reasoned that "if you have already encountered a good deal, you must take it" (probably he learned that from mom XD), so I really had no counter-arguments. Except that I didn't have the money with me, but he covered it for me in the meantime.
And so, the point of this question. Since I have many friends who have DS, do you have any recommendation as to what I should play? :D? People in this country are PSP players (for some reason), so I don't really have anyone to ask. :P Thank you in advance :D
Before I finally lie in bed, I leave you with this amusing exchange among my family during dinner.
Dad: *sees Ohno wallpaper on my cellphone*
Dad:
Dad: Why do you have Ohno as your wallpaper?
Me: It was his birthday.
Dad: Oh, really? When?
Me: Last week.
Mom: *panics as if missing something* Who just had his birthday?!
XD Good night, loves! ♥

Thank you for the suggestions! I'll definitely get those whenever I can. :D ♥

Date: 2008-12-03 02:59 am (UTC)I totally know what that kinda of routine can do.
Taking naps in the evening, then working and sleeping late. XD
Ganbatte~
And what? Over 500 women auditioned to be Nino/Saigo's wife? XD A shame I couldn't try it out LMAO (*is delusional*)... To hug him over and over again. And have him cuddle on your un-pregnant belly.... *kyaaaa*
Oh and I haven't seen Twilight yet. Never heard of the book before the movie either. XD So I don't know much about it. I'll probably go and see it in the next few weeks though!
One last thing: Your mom's hilarious XD It'd be funny if you all turned out to be celebrating Ohno's bday afterwards lmaooooo. I'm jealous that your dad knows who Ohno is and recognizes him. My father really is oblivious to my arashi flailing lol.
Good luck with school!!! <3333

Date: 2008-12-03 04:01 pm (UTC)I was surprised with the number too, especially that all of them came just from the States. Many girls seemed to want the part even though Hanako would just have one scene. One PRECIOUS scene with Nino. *flails with you*
I think you'd appreciate the Twilight movie more, since you haven't read the book. The story is good anyways. Go see it! :D
My mom's funny like that, even if it's unintentional. XD And well, since I've been into Arashi, my dad tried to remember all the names of the members aside from "MatsuJun" (and now he calls him "Jun" like I do). XD He still confuses Sho with Aiba though. XDD
Thank you again! Good luck with you too! ♥

Date: 2008-12-03 06:25 am (UTC)- I haven't seen Iwo Jima yet. Honestly, it's not high on my to-watch list, and I'm only interested because of Nino. I might get my Dad to buy a copy though because it's a Clint Eastwood movie. We will see -- then I can fan girl with you xDD
- Twilight. Just not interested? |:
- HOMG
Nick CarterBSB. They were the first boy band I ever liked. I can remember having debates with friends who liked Boyzone. Nyahaha, good times :3 (And I totally lol'd at the description you posted xD)- Lastly. You know, your story reminds me of something that happened to me last week. Well, actually, it was just an MSN convo with my older brother.
Brother: *IMs out of the blue* Hey, I came across a Matsumoto person the other day! :DD (work stuff)
Me: ...
Brother: Aren't you wondering if the person's related to Jun? :DD
Me: ... right ._.
He knows I like Arashi, because one time, he watched several Shukudai episodes with me when he came over xDD He totally thinks that my ichiban is Aiba, and that I hate Jun (he doesn't get that the person we lulz the most at = favourite) |:

Date: 2008-12-03 04:14 pm (UTC)Haha, it actually took me awhile to watch Iwo Jima, since I'm not interested in war movies at all. Basically I just waited for my dad to get interested in it so that I could have someone to watch it with me. LOL. I'll wait for you! ♥
Have you watched it? It's not that I'm not interested. To be honest I totally liked the book, and was quite excited to see the movie. I expected too much, I guess?
Ohoho. Another BSB fan?
Used to?That makes me really happy. :3 I still love those guys. ;__; (And lol, I couldn't help but share it, y'know ;DD)Haha, at least your brother's trying to relate something to your fandom, instead of just being indifferent about it (like my mom ;p).
he doesn't get that the person we lulz the most at = favourite
LOL, I totally remember my dad mistaking Ohno as my ichiban. At the time I was totally dissing Nino during the AAA concert. XDD

Date: 2008-12-03 05:54 pm (UTC)And here I thought you would place NINO above everything else ;DD Srsly. I understand you. There is an available file for Jun's Kakushi Toride no San Akunin floating around, but I just might not watch it anytime soon. I'm not a big fan of period pieces DD: So yeah.
I haven't watched/read Twilight. TBH, I'm not interested at all (that was what I meant with my previous comment -- I was just stating my opinion at random).
I used to be a BSB fan. I think I stopped fangirling for them when they release "Shape of My Heart" xDD
Nooo. He has made it his goal in life to plague me about my fandoms >:[ I wish he was indifferent, so I can enjoy my fandoms quietly DD: (My parents don't know a thing about them, because they usually don't ask about stuff like this.)

Date: 2008-12-05 05:28 am (UTC)If I did, I would've watch all of Nino's movies and dramas by now. LOL. So far it's just been YamaTaro, RnK and Stand Up; then Ao no Honou and Iwo Jima. I've been meaning to watch Tekkon Kinkreet and Minami-kun no Koibito though. I just need more time XDD
And yeah, I've seen The Hidden Fortress files floating around. I d-don't have much interest in that either.
Nagasawa Masami is there as well...Oh sorry for misinterpreting that. ^^;; I might read just the book though; unless you're a fan you wouldn't enjoy the succeeding books. ;p
Aww, but Shape of My Heart was a good song! LOL. I'm still a fan, because I love those dorky boys as well. XD;;
:( Don't worry, he doesn't get to bother you too much does he? *pats Fall*

Date: 2008-12-03 01:31 pm (UTC)sweet! Congrats for having a DS!! I recommend: Dragon Quest IV/V, The World Ends With You, Children of Mana, New Super Mario Brothers, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, Cooking Mama, Yoshi Island, Zelda, etc. I have too much favs and most of them are RPGs D: But most recommended is Mario, since it is Nintendo's top notch. :DD
omg your parents are SO AWESOME. lol, celebrating Ohno's birthday with your family must be interesting *___* And hope you had a good sleep! <3

Date: 2008-12-03 04:23 pm (UTC)But I actually like Robert, the comparison with the character (Edward Cullen) is just exaggerated sometimes, like he's the real thing. Except he's not. And I prefer Jasper Cullen (Jackson Rathbone) throughout the movie. :D
Yay! I knew I could trust you with DS-related things. Thank you~ ♥♥♥ I don't mind playing RPGs; they're one of my favorite genres, aside from fighting I guess. I-I'm such a girl. XDD
Haha, my mom only reacted 'cause she thought she missed someone's birthday. Someone actually relevant to her. XDD
Thank you dear~ ♥

Date: 2008-12-04 01:36 pm (UTC)asdfjls Jackson Rathbone is hot too. *___*
You're welcome and hope you have fun with those games!♥ And you know, I knew DQ from Nino, and I loved it, so thank him. XDD Yay more RPG fans! and hey, try My Japanese Coach too! It's fun(although stupid damn puzzles) 8DD
♥!

Date: 2008-12-05 05:49 am (UTC)YESSS, Jackson Rathbone is such an eyecandy. 8D
I'm afraid I'm going to play this weekend, even though I need to study for the finals. XD An hour or so should be fine (I hope. X3). I really want to try DQ, since it's Nino's favorite--I mean, he must like it for a reason. LOL. I want to try My Japanese Coach too! :3 ♥ I'll tell you once I get the hang of playing it. XD ♥♥♥

Date: 2008-12-03 07:37 pm (UTC)2. i haven't seen it yet, but for some reason i hope that i get screaming girls in my theater because i've never experienced that before LOL.
3. i've seen that at the bookstore before! but LOL at the NAMBLA part.
4. i really don't have many DS games, but warioware touched, lost in blue, and animal crossing are all fun and cute. plus there's my japanese coach, which is a fairly good game for learning japanese.
and oh, your parents <3 that is so adorable :D

Date: 2008-12-05 10:36 am (UTC)2. Haha, depends on the person really. I hate people who don't care about anyone else's viewing pleasure. Xp
3. You should get it! *is a bad influence* XD It really teaches you about something you'd never learn in a Japanese textbook. :DD I laughed at the NAMBLA part too.
4. Thanks! I'll try those, since I'll try any genre, really. XD;;
Just imagine having that conversation on a regular basis. LOL. ♥

Date: 2008-12-04 04:26 am (UTC)Wow, I didn't realize Kase Ryo was much older! He looked pretty young to me in the movie. :O
AAGGHH. It pains me that I can't remember any shows with his highlights either. I know he's had the light brown hair early 2006-ish? Or was it 2007? ASGHGLHAIR.
I have yet to join the Twilight bandwagon. XD; A friend in my English class even scolded me for being like, the only female in that class who hasn't read it. ROFLL.
YAY~ You got a DS Lite. &hearts I play some of the weirdest games, but Final Fantasy Tactics A2 is way fun if you like RPGs. :D AAND, if you ever get an R4, etc. I made Arashi themes for 'em a while back. ;D Ufufu.
Gosh, I sound like I'm on crack. I better go call it a night soon. XD

Date: 2008-12-05 10:44 am (UTC)I was surprised about his age too! He looked like he was just three years older than Nino
's real ageor something. He's even younger-looking in the interviews. *____*XDD I know what you mean. I just read Twilight because my circle of friends were talking about it and I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND A WORD. LOL. XD Basically I just read it to know what's the buzz all about. I might not read the succeeding books though. ;p
YAY~ ♥ I can actually play anything 8D J-Just don't give me Hannah Montana or something like that. XDD Oooh I might try the Arashi themes. Are they in your journal? :DDD
Haha, but being like on crack is fun! *gets bricked*

Date: 2008-12-06 08:53 am (UTC)ME TOOO. HAIIIIRR. *chants* He should have worn a wig like that during his bald era. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WONDERFUL.
*DYING* Yeah, that's the only reason I'd read it too (if I ever) is to see what all this hype is about. I always feel so left out in Twilight conversations, lol.
Oh man, I despise Hannah Montana. XD Okay I don't really, but she's just everywhere. Don't worry, I would never recommend that game. Haha. And yes! All DSes should never be Arashi-deprived. :DD
OKSLEEPTIME.

Date: 2008-12-07 03:13 pm (UTC)Bald era, oh Nino. It actually makes me wonder why he had to shave his head for real. Unless. Nvrmd. I haven't watched the SP yet so I have no idea. XD Back to your comment! I love that hair, like seriously. I tried hard not to flail when I was watching the special features with my dad. It's not exactly easy to do that, you know. D:
Yay! Thanks Betty! *glomps* ♥ Yeah, I think she's overrated. I don't care, really. LOL.
Hope you're sleeping well! ♥

Date: 2008-12-07 10:25 pm (UTC)You. Have not seen the SP. ;o;; You must catch up on Nino's videography, my friend. XD
Ah~, I wish I watched the special features with my dad. We watched the movie together though. He was like, an encyclopedia. "Oh, that's a JAP 0 plane -- oh JAP stands for Japanese." XD; "Yeah, I know, Dad."
&hearts &hearts Oh good. LOL.
Aww, thanks. I did! I love the weekend. :D

I-I know. I'm a bad Nino fan. *weeps* An LJ friend recommended that one, instead of Ao no Honou (or any other Nino movie I listed). ;____; I really should put that in my list now. Then again, I want to see Marathon too, since I could relate to the story somehow. ;p Christmas break here I come! XDD

Date: 2008-12-04 08:50 am (UTC)I'll watch Twilight at 12th (perhaps), and I'll go back here again to talk about it with you, do you mind? :)
And one thing. I NEED TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE BOOK xD Pretty much interesting stuffs, haha xD
How about Dragon Quest? Nino's mentioned its latest version a lot in his nikki, and I've been longing to play it too.. Too bad there's only Japanese ver of it *__*
And what an....ideal parents for us fangirls ;DD

I know right? XDD I almost fell off my chair with that one. You should get it when you see it in the shelves! LOL.
I haven't tried DQ yet, although I have it already. The first (and last) time I played I experimented with Mario, classic. XDD
And what an....ideal parents for us fangirls ;DD
Is there a better way to indulge our fangirl tendencies?? :DD
no subject
Date: 2008-12-05 05:45 pm (UTC)Thanks, can't wait for the day ♥
I'll try find it in our local bookstore--I still have hope :D
Mario is related to Nino too--srsly Nino is everywhere ♥ (just a random fact, there's a character named Nino in our local TV drama ;D)
Oh I don't have any further objection for that ;D They can keep up with your fandom, that's great ♥

Date: 2008-12-07 03:26 pm (UTC)Yeah, Nino pretty much plays everything that is awesome really. I should take his recommendations. LOL. (Oh really? :O What kind of character is he? XD)
